Table of Contents

Starting with one of the strongest categories, Ealing has some of the best transport links of outer London.

Ealing is well-connected to central London and other parts of the city by public transport.

Firstly you have the central line connecting at Ealing Broadway but also hitting North and West Ealing.

There are also several National Rail stations, including Ealing Broadway, Hanwell, and Southall.

But without doubt in our view the most impressive transport link is the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail).

This can get you from Ealing Broadway to London Liverpool Street in an astonishing 20 minutes.

If anyone had previously tried this route via the central line you will appreciate how impressive this is.

The Elizabeth Line doesn’t just service Liverpool Street, it can also get commuters to Canary Wharf in similarly speedy times.

In addition to trains, Ealing is also home to a number of bus routes that connect the borough to other parts of London and the surrounding area.

Things To Do In Ealing

Ealing is a busy and hustling area with the main High Street/Broadway a hub of activity.

Go shopping in Ealing Broadway

There are countless high street shops in the Broadway as well as more unique one off’s.

Be aware that the pavements can become crowded during busy periods but this is testimony to quite how popular the area is.

There are also restaurants to suit everyone’s pallet and wallet size.

Walpole Park

Just set back from the main shopping area is a beautifully located, well maintained park.

Walpole Park is a lovely place to take your children or enjoy your lunch from one of the many excellent stalls.

The park has a large play area for children and a nice pond to sit and watch the world go by.

Pitzhanger Manor

Situated next to Walpole Park, Pitzhanger Manor is a historic house designed by the architect Sir John Soane.

The manor is now a museum and is open to the public.

An adults admission costs £9 with students being half that fee.

One thing which we found interesting about the Manor was that it was built as a ‘country retreat’. This just shows how much London has sprawled over the past 200 or so years.

It remains a stunning display of the opulence of a bygone era and well worth a visit.
