I’ve visited Harrow On The Hill so I can tell you all about it in my area guide. I dive into transport, crime, demographics and much more below.

About Harrow On The Hill

Harrow on the Hill is a vibrant suburban area in North West London.

It’s a bustling area where modernity meets heritage, famed for its prestigious Harrow School and rich history.

The streets are a lively blend of contemporary and traditional, with a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Amidst this urban energy, you’ll find pockets of country like feel in its lovely parks and green spaces.

The area is a cultural mosaic, reflecting the diverse and dynamic spirit of London, I’ll touch on that a bit more later.

Harrow On The Hill serves as a convenient and lively hub for both residents and visitors.

Let’s dig in to some of the specific aspects which make Harrow On The Hill an appealing place.

The transport links in Harrow On The Hill are solid but nothing which blew me away.

Ultimately it has access to the London Underground which is great, but that access is somewhat limited.

Train and underground

The key transport hub in the area is Harrow-on-the-Hill station, which is served by the Metropolitan line of the London Underground.

This provides direct connections to Central London, including stops like Baker Street and King’s Cross St Pancras.

The station is also a part of the National Rail network, offering Chiltern Railways services to destinations like Aylesbury and Marylebone.

Crime – Is Harrow On The Hill Safe?

Since I have been completing these area guides this is the first time somewhere has landed exactly in line with the London average.

The crime per resident in Harrow On The Hill is 95, exactly the same as Greater London as a whole.

This data is coming from Met Police figures and comparing it to census data.

Interestingly you could make the argument that due to the commercial area the actual crime levels will ‘feel’ lower.

Is Harrow on the hill safe

This is due to the fact that shopping centres act almost like crime generators due to shoplifting, offences not seen in solely residential areas.

See places like Romford and Stratford as examples.

In terms of a trend over the year, you can see from our above chart that it is edging up. This is something for residents to bear in mind.

All things considered however Harrow On The Hill is a relatively safe place.

According to Rightmove the average price was of £551,689 over the last year.

Interestingly prices in Harrow On The Hill over the last year were 10% up on the previous year and 12% up on the 2021 peak of £490,820.
